“A resident at our residential aged care facility who is immobile and transfers using a full sling hoist had a stage 2 sacral pressure injury for 10 months. The pressure injury was proving difficult to heal as the resident often declined to be repositioned due to only being comfortable when in a fowler’s position in bed. The resident was already using a different brand of alternating air cell mattress on her bed which was not assisting in healing her pressure injury. Six weeks after the Curocell A4 alternating air cell mattress was installed on her bed, her pressure injury had completely healed.
